Hi, I’m Chris …
After working with a leading employment law and litigation firm in Toronto, I established my own practice with the goal of delivering thoughtful, creative, and effective legal services to both employers and employees.
I have appeared before several administrative boards and tribunals, as well as at all levels of Court in Ontario. This includes a recent win at the Ontario Court of Appeal in which the Court affirmed that it is unreasonable to insist an employee accept the employer’s calculation of the dismissed employee’s entitlements upon termination, which the employee has never seen, as a condition of receiving that compensation.
From the employee perspective, I am always mindful of the intersection of one’s identity with their employment role and what is at stake when that role is threatened. From the employer perspective, I strive to ensure that employment relationships are managed from the beginning, and will work with employers to provide practical and targeted advice to support their specific needs.
I offer a pragmatic, client-centered approach to legal counsel and representation, ensuring alignment with your objectives and values. My aim is to empower clients with the strongest legal position possible, while considering factors such as cost, risk, and strategic goals.
I am actively engaged as a volunteer with Don Valley Community Legal Services, and provide pro bono employment advice through the Ontario Law Society Referral Service.
I live in Toronto with my wife and daughter.
